In an exciting development for our retail technology company, I'm thrilled to announce that Chris Jensen has joined Simbe as our Chief Commercial Officer. This strategic appointment comes at a transformative moment in our company's journey, as we continue to reshape the future of retail operations.

A Track Record of Success

Chris brings an impressive portfolio of experience to Simbe. Most recently, as Chief Revenue Officer at Ibotta, he demonstrated exceptional leadership by managing a 250+ person team across sales, account management, and operations. Under his guidance, Ibotta achieved remarkable milestones, including their successful IPO on the NYSE in April 2024 and reaching over $350M in revenue. His work at Ibotta, particularly in building scalable revenue functions and commercial operations, aligns perfectly with Simbe's growth trajectory.

His prior role as Global Marketing Director at Whole Foods Market showcases his innovative approach to digital transformation. Chris established Whole Foods' performance marketing function and spearheaded new digital initiatives that generated over $300M in incremental revenue. His entrepreneurial spirit is further evidenced by his founding of Givella, a fintech marketing platform that merged with a European cashback company.

A Pivotal Time for Simbe

Chris's arrival coincides with a period of unprecedented growth for Simbe. The year 2024 has been transformative, marked by several significant achievements:

The successful closure of a $50M Series C round led by Goldman Sachs in October 2024 demonstrates strong investor confidence in our vision. Our customer base expanded dramatically in 2024, with more new and existing retailer logos added in the past twelve months than in the previous three years combined.

Our impact on the retail industry is reflected in the impressive performance metrics of our Tally fleet:

  • Over 1.1 million traversals completed in 3 million autonomous hours, equivalent to 348 years of operation
  • Coverage of 1.2 million kilometers – enough to circle the globe 94 times
  • Scanning of 12.5 billion price tags, identifying and enabling correction of 88 million errors
  • Integration of data from over 15,000 brands and vendors, providing crucial insights for supply chain optimization

Looking Ahead

In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, Chris will oversee our Sales, Strategy/Value Realization, Business Development, and Customer Experience, Operations & Support teams. His leadership will be instrumental in deepening our board engagement and market presence while building upon our existing momentum.

Based in the Denver area with his family, Chris brings not only relevant experience and strong leadership but also shares our cultural values – a crucial factor in maintaining our company's collaborative and innovative spirit as we scale.
